i did my watermarking tiny but lorna is right, on my website i too have low resolutions images as in "save for web" on photoshop

I always give my clients 7 x 5 prints as proofs.

If I did them low res would the quality of the pic be compromised?

i thought you sell from a webite or a CD .
why not try one low res pic and print one from your printer so you can see how much quality (if you have a printer lol)

No I dont sell from the website and dont give clients cd [thats another story] so I will try your idea. thanks

I show the wedding couple their proofs in an album, I am showing a couple theirs tomorrow they have 180 [7 x 5 pics] to choose 24 for the 10 x 8 album.

They are not watermarked.

When I show portrait proofs they are the same 7 x 5 prints but in future they will be watermarked.

I am not concerned about watermarking the wedding ones as they have already paid the money for the wedding and I never bank on extra orders, if I do get them its a brucie bonus.

i guess you do pay a wedding TOG before wedding day but is that the same for portrait too?

I take a deposit two weeks before the wedding then they pay me the rest when i hand over the proofs. [lots of wedding togs find this crazy but i am happy with it, most want 50% on booking and 50% one month before wedding]


portraits i take the sitting fee on the actual day of the photos and then they look at the proofs a week or so later and order from there. They usually pay when when the order is made.
