Some more Wedding sets :)

Its been way to tough to narrow these down as I love so many of them!!

Waiting for the bride..

The Brides Arrival

The Cermony

Mr and Mrs

Now the BW looks odd out of context They had a TopGun theme -so we used some poses from the film (same with the large one of the groom below somewhere)

A few extras

I hope you have enjoyed them and as always CC is always welcome x

Re: Some more Wedding sets :)

ok great set. Really like the first two sets.....

I ask this question because it was one of the hardest parts.

Do you have a system on how to 'bin' photos even the ones you really like?

How many photos did you take and how many will you show the happy couple?

Do you stick to the amount you agreed on? [because I always ended up giving more, as I said before I'm rubbish at business]

Thanks

1.
Ok first i go through them and bin the ones out of focus, blown out, underexposed or just plain old crap. Then I separate them into two folders. Phase 1 and Phase 2. Best and OK respectively.

Ill edit my best first and if needs be, make up any missing shots or bulk up shots with Phase 2.

They then all go onto disk

2.
I took ITRO 1200 shots on Saturday - Thats about average. I aim to hand each couple between 150 and 250 shots. Any more and they'll struggle to choose what they want So as the photographer, I call the shots on which ones go in on the wants and needs of my clients.

3.
We dont agree on a number of images per say. That said they will only get a set amount for the album (which is 40) and anything else is extra on top., otherwise you start to lose money.

HTH x

Re: Some more Wedding sets :)

Pretty similar to what I used to do.....150-250 shots.

Another ?

Do you show the photos as a hard copy or on a slideshow or on line?

Say you gave the couple 250 shots then they pick their 40............do you give them the other shots?

I used to give them all shots on 7 x 5 and then their album with 35 pics in.......

I offer hardcopy if they have immediate family with no internet access. Its an A4 hardback book with 6 shots to a page. Each shot has the file number underneath and copyright written over the image. I also keep a copy for myself. I put a pouch in front of it for the disks to go in. I then have it to hand on the ordering consultation with a client.

I do this in person as A. Its easier B. Quicker and C. They can look at and feel samples that i have, incase they want to order anything aside from the album, such as canvas, acrylics etc.

No, they dont have any extra captures. This is where the money is. If i give them away, there is no reason for them or their family to buy extra copies

Re: Some more Wedding sets :)

Yes I see what you mean about handing over the extra copies and then their family not buying extra copies.

I made enough from the wedding that to be honest [and this is naughty] I didn't want people ordering extra copies ha ha............as I said lazy business old me.

I even gave them the disc if they wanted it.......come the end I just wanted it over and done with.....

Re: Some more Wedding sets :)

Apart from protecting yourself from clients being able to do copies, its nice to see a good watermark right across the photos making it hard to download and "pinch" off the internet. So many times we read about copyright infringements of photos lifted off the net, yet people still post without protection then wonder why their photos appear somewhere completely different and claimed as someone elses work.

Its a neat idea showing the copyright sign right across the pictures and maybe made a less transparent would impact more as to there being a copyright.

I don't know how possible it would be to include your company or personal name within the white transparent part of the sign, somewhere in a different colour not to be over obvious but there incase anyone has any ideas about who the copyright belongs to. This would save putting your name in a corner thats easy to remove.

Just an idea that maybe something a little different
