B&W Antarctica

The real world (aka work) is seriously interfering with me going through my pics from my trip. I did try a few in B + W though.

A storm approaches the Neumeir Channel, Antarctic Peninsula

I thought this lent itself to B+W. Bones left by the whaling industry that brought so many species to the brink of extinction. The bones lie in huge piles in many places along the peninsula, this was taken near Port Lockroy. The bones themselves are massive (and from far bigger whales than any found today) and really impressive.

Whale bones on Trinity Island with an old (and long way from sea-worthy!) boat in the background.

Low cloud in the Melchior clouds, Antarctica

Re: B&W Antarctica

The bones are very 'poignant' Sam.

Love the last one.

Re: B&W Antarctica

Beautiful landscape shots, and even though the second whale bone shot is very sad, it's a great image too. I like the way the bones are reaching for the sky.

Can't wait for the next installment, of your Antarctica adventure
