Frozen Lochan na h-Achlaise

The sun came out for a little while this afternoon so I decided to go out with the camera. Lochan na h-Achlaise is still frozen solid with a nice fresh coating of snow so I couldn't resist a shot.

Re: Frozen Lochan na h-Achlaise

Yes it's frozen but with snow on top. The lumps are boulders which poke through the water.

Re: Frozen Lochan na h-Achlaise

Lovely shot Phil. I must get back up there soon, I'm missing all that snow. Although I do prefer to see water in the lochs rather than being iced over. Did you get any other pics further along, ie Buachaille Etive Mor , and are the roads covered in snow as well?

Thanks Grant.

I did go to Glen Coe but it was grey and miserable with flat rubbish light so didn't hang about. The main road is fine but the Glen Etive road was snowed over although 4X4 would have been enough to get down to park by the bridge. If the light had been better I'd have tried the falls and Buachaille Etive Mor. It was very strange as the weather just changed from golden glow and blue light to drab grey at about the Ski centre. There was a lot of low flying Tornado's today for some reason but I wasn't ready for them

I took some more shots but haven't been through them yet. Stopped at Loch Earn on the way home so hopefully some of those will be worth posting.........

Re: Frozen Lochan na h-Achlaise

Did you have any ice skates with you?

Really like how the sky, echoes the snowy surface of the lake

If you'd seen me with Hannah on the Wii doing 'Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games' tonight you'd realise how funny that is.
