Compact Flash v XD Cards
I am looking for a new memory card for my camera. It takes both CF and XD cards. I have an XD card at the moment but am looking for a bigger card this time round.
What is the difference between them and is one better than the other?
(not sure if this is the right section for this)

Im guessing u might be using a FUJI, as my old s7000 was able to do the same so i had a card of each so when one got full it moved onto the other one.
CF is what canon cameras use so if you think you will upgrade to a canon in the future get a CF card so its futuresafe!

CF all the way.
Buy the BIGGEST capacity your camera will accept, but also take into consideration the SPEED the card runs at.
The faster write speed the better.
Use your budget against both factors

Our local pc shop has 1GB cards for £11 and 2GB's for £24. Does that sound ok price wise?

I get mine online... Amazon are pretty good
If your camera can take both, get CF, as a lot of DSLRs use CF - so if you ever get one you have plenty of memory cards

I get mine online as well ..we use Compact Flash and I have just ordered a 4gig for $80 (about £40) I ordered one for Stephen a couple of months ago and it was fab, so quick as well so now I've ordered myself one

I personally don't like to buy the biggest I can, I try and stick with 2Gb max. The reason for this is incase the card gets corrupted/damaged. If I have to change cards frequently then I won't loose all my shots, just the ones on the card thats goes wrong. It might not be the best option for everyone but it is what suits me best (and what was recommended to me).

(Just incase you want to buy one as well He was VERY quick the last time considering that they come from the US
Two Gig Card This one is about £17 for a 2 gig (including postage)

Sounds as if CF is the way to go then I was hoping you all would say that. I have the XD card at the moment and its always playing up in both camera and pc.
It does not say but I will find out What speed should it be for a digital camera? I would prefer to have 2 smaller cards too after the problems I have had with my other card after losing loads of one off pics 
I would buy online but with the post going on strike all next week I wont get anything delivered and I need a new card as soon as.
