I haven't worn sunglasses for yonks, but I wear my ordinary glasses for taking pics, but I have to take them of when I'm chimping, or everything looks blurred

Don't forget that a certain amount of light can get onto the sensor via the viewfinder and slightly alter the picture result. That is why the Nikon D200 and others are supplied with viewfinder blanks if taking the picture remotely. I suspect those using live view camera settings on cameras automatically have this done for them
