Some recent food shots

I've been learning to cook - so food is the only thing I've been taking shots of lately

1. Chicken & Peas served on a bed of raw spinach (cooked with garlic, onions and a bit of turmeric and s&p)

2. Spag Bol!

3. Chicken and chips with peri peri relish and coleslaw, salad.

4. Melon!

They are unfortunately tho, I can't have them often as they're not detox-compatible. I had the Spag bol last night and the chicken today - it's my weekend off the detox

Btw, the first one is tastier than them all those sautéed onions and peas give an intensely sweet flavour. I would normally serve with barley cous cous, but then saw someone serve some beef on raw spinach and thought I'd give it a try with that dish... it's surprisingly filling! Not at all 'salady'.

Re: Some recent food shots

They all look very nice Azz.

You're getting pretty 'arty' with your focus and composition.

Re: Some recent food shots

They all look delicious to me Azz. I always enjoy seeing your food shots.
In terms of photography, I think 1 and 4 are the most successful. I like the idea of the play with dof on number 3 but I think it would work better if the in focus plate of food took a stronger position in the photo rather than peeping around the oof salad. It would be worth playing with your angle and composition on that one as I am sure it could work well.

Re: Some recent food shots

Thanks guys

Em, I see what you mean. Although I actually played with varying degrees of what's in/out the frame/focus but that one seemed to work the best at the time for some reason. I usually take about 20 shots of each dish, but when I've picked my faves delete the rest as I think its a bit of a waste of hard disk space keeping shots of just food however that was yesterday so will hunt them out of the trash can and see if I like any others..

Hows this one:

My only prob with this one is that you can't really see the chicken.
