Re: Taking advantage of a nice day.

Thanks Saga, the sun really decided to shine at this time just as I had to leave. Also last shot taken with 35mm f1.8 lens, the others with 70-300mm lens. The Egret was very shy and the shot in the tree was the best I could get and the sun certainly wasn't over my shoulder.

Very nice Richard, that first shot looks like one of the Redwing horse sanctuaries in the background?

Re: Taking advantage of a nice day.

Thanks Phil.

I'm finding I can't really get close enough to a lot of the birds with my 70-300 lens, I find the lens is quite soft at 300mm.

I have decided, and it may take quite a long time, but I have decided to save for the Nikon 300mm/f4 and a 1.4X teleconverter. I feel it will give me a little more distance, be quicker and better quality shots will be able to be cropped a bit more.
