Re: pink columbine

Ooh you lucky ducky. I've seen some tremendous work with that camera. I know you'll leve its sharpness & low light performance.

With regard to your photo I must admit I prefer more saturation and contrast in my photos than presented here. What's important is what you like. There's no one way to shoot or process a photo.

Your composition, interest and subject are interesting. You've used a good shallow depth of field to blur the background. Well done!

Re: pink columbine

Hi and welcome to the group. I actually think the softness of the picture shows how delicate the flower is. Those that know me know I speak my mind and if I don't like something I say so. Having said that I do actually like the picture which is a rare statement.

Just one thing to be aware of, it is very easy to remove your copyright logo, its a lot harder to remove a faint watermark.

Re: pink columbine

thanks everyone.

the watermark is more for branding than protection. if someone wants to rip off a 400x600 px image then by all means don't let me get in the way. things are better protected on my website where the images are larger than on flickr.

bobmielke - i have to say i was skeptical about this camera at first and really disappointed after seeing fuji's first sample images. but after that i was amazed at what it was producing - for the most part.. other than a small tilt and crop and some minor sharpening in lightroom this is a sooc jpg.

Beautiful, you've captured the fragility of the columbine, love the light.
