Re: Post a Pic: ID challenge

ahhh - I thought the music clue was for the nappy pin! Had me confused for a bit!
I never ever would have got that tape!

I haven't anything to put up for guessing.
Have you got another one Phil? Or anyone else?

Nothing ready to go...........

Somebody else do some and I'll snap some ready for a rainy day.

All this macro stuff is doing my head in

I'm off work for the next two days and (despite the snow) I'm driving again so I hope to get out and about back to what I enjoy rather than getting further sidetracked by all this nerdy (but addictive) magnification ratio stuff

Re: Post a Pic: ID challenge

Funny you should say that...

The same time I took the pin/tape/wasp/fly shots etc - I pulled a clump of frozen grass from outside to try and photograph (not snow) but ice.

Looking through the lens I saw some amazing crystals but without flash I was having to use long shutter speeds. Everything looked fine to the naked eye but through the lens I could see the stuff melting (and moving) before my eyes because of the desk lamp I was using as a light source.

It's snowing here just now - big fat fluffy flakes and I really do see the attraction but to get anything decent requires a lot of planning and a ringflash.

Re: Post a Pic: ID challenge

From what I have heard, windowsills and windscreens are the best places for snowflake macros. Can you use that lens outside on a tripod or does it need to be in studio?
