Feeling very stupid..

Well, I went into a very well known camera store to buy a new lens. I asked if they had a 90mm Tamron macro lens and was told (as if I had just crawled out from under a stone) "Tamron didn't do a 90mm lens!"
I walked out feeling very sheepish & embarrassed but I'm sure that is the lens Littleme uses for her fabulous pictures and one that I have had reccommended. Slightly confused to say the least

Re: Feeling very stupid..

It definately says Tamron 90mm on it.
Print something out about it and take it back and make him feel silly!

Re: Feeling very stupid..

I went into our local branch of Sejjops ages ago when I wanted to buy a 50mm F1:8.

The guy said he hadn't heard of one and he actually laughed at me when I described it and went on to add that it should be about about seventy quid.

I'll never forget the way he explained that a prime lens was a very expensive bit of kit.

Imagine my satifaction when (whilst stood at his little stand) he turned away from his screen and informed me that he'd located one for £70 "at our other branch" and could "have it by midweek".

"Need it today sorry"

I'll use them if I'm stuck but will never take advice from them. Most of us who enjoy photography and read the reviews and news in mags will know as much as a lot of people who just happen to work in a camera shop.
