Re: Professional portrait photographers

If you were getting champagne, a stylist, hairdresser etc then they would state that, its all in the wording.defo closer with the second location, but as said, their area costs are also being helped asking with what they sell and hire costs, without taking photography into account. Plus no clothing links/style advice in that sense, as its your own stuff which in itself I don't disagree with but for over a grand I do.

Re: Professional portrait photographers

For that money you are getting your photos with one garment. They advertise a certain experience, they dint mention the actual hire costs on the site though. If want to have your clothes changes to be more of their garments then god knows what the final costs would be.. I just find that to some it could be a bit misleading.

Re: Professional portrait photographers

What I do think might be bumping up the price is the fact that its a female taking your pics, which for some might be worth it, so I suppose thats fair enough. But theres guys been doing this stuff for years, who are good at it, and price a bit more openly..

At the end of the day anything is only worth what people are prepared to pay for it.

Re: Professional portrait photographers

I can't help but think this thread reads like sour grapes... and a bit of a personal attack on someone :/ I don't know who, but I'm backing out of it, as I don't think it's fair at all. €1250 does not seem steep to me, if the photographer can deliver the goods so to speak. End.

Why would it be a personal attack?
People can have opinions without it being some vendetta against an individual.

Thats my point, its not very clear whats being sold for that amount of money. The corset, the experience, the photography...more emphasis seems to go on the pampering than the photos but for a grand and a quarter. So it seems steep to me.
If you don't think its steep, and you would go and pay that, fair enough, but I find bits n pieces a little questionable and so wouldnt.

Re: Professional portrait photographers

On the face of it, it does seem a steep price. But without knowing the level of professionalism it hard to judge.

For example: are there cost to be born by the photographer such as:

Hiring a professional MUA?
Studio & lights hire?
Photographers assistant?
Garments and props hire?
Photographers time and equipment to include PP and printing?

Plus you would definitely want to see a few portfolio examples before parting with any cash.

Re: Professional portrait photographers

I agree with Daisy peoples perception of money is different everywhere.

I would not pay £100 for a pair of shoes but plenty do....... etc etc etc
