My new camare

Ok, thanks to all your help I decided on a Nikon D40X......I am loving it, been playing with it this morning, it is really easy to handle and use (so far.)

Here are few pics I took earlier

these are with the standard 18 -55mm lense

And this one was taken with the 55 - 200mm lense

What do you think?????

Re: My new camare

Really good considering you've just got it, I got a new cam 2 months ago and it does take a bit of getting used to at first.

Re: My new camare

Very nice Jackbox

Just keep taking and taking pics until you find your feet so to speak. Unfortunately the weather isn't ideal for great pics right now. If you catch a sunny day try to take a pic of something with the sun behind you and shining on the front of the object you are taking. And try that with some macro shots too - they will come out stunning I'm sure

Look forward to seeing more of your photos!

Re: My new camare

Yep - get into pressing buttons, changing settings and generally fiddling about to see what effect it has on your pictures... You won't become an expert overnight - and even after years of practice - you'll still have elements of being the Village idiot - like me

Good first attempts - hope you'll get a nice day to get out and practice some more...

Are you using the flash on the camera - or did you get a separate flash unit?

Re: My new camare

Brilliant Jackie!

I'm sure you'l love that camera more and more as time goes on

Following on from Azz's comments, today would have been a wonderful day for countryside shots, as this afternoon the sun was really strong and low here, with a blue sky. The lighting was teriffic and the trees cast long long shadows right across the fields.

Personally I love winter for it's colourful skies - the sun is low down for far longer and some of the sunsets with long rays bursting out from the horizon are stunning. Enjoy!
