New lens

Yesterday my OH gave me one of my christmas prezzies early. It a canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens I tried it out in Jessops and it's great. It does make the camera a litle front heavy, but the picture quality more than makes up for it

I'm now hankering after the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens I may have to save my pennies a little harder to be able to afford one

Re: New lens

Very nice (and only one of your christmas presents )

This is a lovely little lens, I also have one and think it is great. The IQ is very good (not L quality but still very good) and it is a nice versatile lens.

Looking forward to seeing some of your shots with it

I do get spoilt

I can't wait to get out and take some photo's with it. I'll have to wait until this awful weather goes away

Re: New lens

That a fantastic shot Greyhawk.

I managed to get out for 10 mins before it started to rain again. There's nothing interesting around, not even any birds, other than the one's that were brave enough to fight the wind!!

I've took a few pics, but there's nothing jaw dropping I'm afraid

In this weather it would be very hard to get stunning pictures. This lens performs very well in good light but not quite so well in poor light (due to the maximum aperture of 4-5.6 depending on your focal length, although the IS helps greatly). Though saying that, I have used mine in pretty poor conditions before and have been satisfied with the results

After getting this lens, I'd settle for socks

I did take a few Azz, and I'm happy with the results, just it's so bleak round here in the winter

Might have to have a trip out tomorrow if the weather lets me
