Adobe Customer Support

With the purchase of a beautiful iMac this week I was torn on what to do with my Photoshop CS5 & OnOne Plug-in Suite. I just finished talking with Adobe who was willing to do a cross-platform swap and send me CS5 for Mac for $6.95. It will be here in 3 business days. Tomorrow morning I'll call OnOne Software, based in Portland, Oregon where I live. I'll beg for the same deal. The big hurdle is over so there's no going back to a Windows PC.

As a follow up I emailed OnOne Software last night and asked to swap for the Mac version of their software. They responded by email just a few minutes ago giving me the link for the Mac version download coded for the same user key and a license allowing me to use it on two computers. Customer service just doesn't get any better than that. I responded and told them how special they are. I'm set!

Since switching to the Mac I find myself starting over again in some ways. I was installing the Eye-Fi software center to the Mac so I could begin transmitting photos to it instead of my PC and the computer kept asking me for my username & password. When I entered it it kept saying it was wrong. I called tech support at Eye-Fi and they laughed because a Mac will, when trying to load new software, ask you for the computer's username & password. I entered that in and it took off running properly. How could I have known that? It was frustrating. It's like starting all over again.
