Nicola

Just experimenting. Any thoughts or comments please.

The B&W came out far better on an A4 print than reproduced here.

Re: Nicola

If the picture was purely for yourself and didn't do it for publication then I can see little wrong with it. However if it were for publication I would remove the skin blemishes on the neck and lower cheek which tend to distract somewhat, if that isn't being too rude.

Re: Nicola

Hi Baz, not for publication but I was rather looking for opinions regarding the 'altered states' part ie. the B&W conversion and treatment.

Re: Nicola

It's nice Jeff, although you may want to add some detail to the cheekbones as it's vanished due to the over-exposure style.

Re: Nicola

Re: Nicola

Jeff like the others say maybe a little more definition would make a better B?W?sketch effect.

Somewhere between your photo and this one would be my guess.

I have sent you a PM Jeff incase your interested

Re: Nicola

I'd prefer a softer version tbh, and perhaps even lessen the shadows a bit, maybe like this:

Re: Nicola

yes Jeff I or AZZ will remove mine if you so wish, it often easier to show than comment on a picture and as you asked thats why I put it up.

Re: Nicola

Azz/Baz, No problem with the edits. Thanks for taking the trouble. However I was attempting to create a B&W Andy Warhole type retro poster style, not just a conversion to greyscale, if I could I would have red lips.

See

Little Me, the loss of detail was intentional, not to everyones taste I know.

BTW Nicola quite liked the effect, I mounted the print in a wide edged black frame.
