adding a border in photoshop

I've got all manner of fancy photoshop frames which I can incorporate as a layer but .......Is there a quick simple way to add an 'edge' to an image - just a simple black outline ?

Or a way other than photoshop ?

Yes - I've sinced had a play with that.

What i'd like to do is create some borders which i can save and then just select a suitable one and add as a layer?

To do as you want Phil you'll have to make them yourself and save them as a PDF unless you want to buy them from site like this one
