Common Garden Spider

Hello Everybody!!!

As this is my very 1st post here i thought i would share with you all my 1st attempts at shooting in macro, the common garden spider. This type of photography is all new to me and i know the images are far from perfect so any feedback would be very welcome. I did have the added difficulty of shooting these images at night, getting the lighting right was and is a nightmare.
I am used to imaging on a much bigger scale, as my interest in photography over the last 4 years has been Astrophotography but sadly opportunities to get outside imaging the night sky have been few and far between, mainly because of the great british weather creating wall to wall cloud most nights.
Astrophotography has now taken a back seat for the time being and ive gone back to normal photography and also delve into the macro world.
It did mean me updating my equipment though, for astro work i used a modded Canon EOS350d, perfect for imaging galaxies and nebulae but not so great for daytime photography. So i decided to upgrade to a Canon EOS500d and for the last couple of months its been a case of throwing myself in at the deep end in search for that perfect picture. Its a steep learning curve when your just used to mounting a camera on a 10" telescope.

Anyways, over to the images

Again, any feedback would be welcome. Thanks.

Re: Common Garden Spider

Thanks Musky, Yes web makes the image ......As long as they are still in their webs it doesnt bother me, i draw the line at picking any spider bigger than 2 1/2" up in my hands though, missus is petrified of them so im the one that has to put them outside when they are in the house, with the help of a glass and piece of paper i may add
