Strange Dilemma

I hope this is in the right place. Well it seems we have a bit of a strange situation and was wondering what people think we should do.

I came over to the uk to get Laura/Zoundz her new camera. My family live over here so it killed 2 birds with one stone as I get a holiday to see my parents and Lauras camera is a hell of a lot cheaper. We were aiming to get a Nikon D300 as the price had fallen since the D300s release. Well I checked the websites to make sure I put enough money in my account to pay for it. Went into town to put the money in my bank and came home to buy it. Within the few hours it seemed to have dissapeared off many of the websites and stores. I tried park cameras as they said they had it in stock to get a phone call shortly afterwards saying that they didn't have any and had to cancel the order. From what the shops told me they had been discontinued and no shops had them anymore. Well I found a shop on amazon who was a registered nikon dealer and seemed to be the only place still claiming to have them in stock. So I ordered one and the next day it was posted out. Come today I find a camera shaped parcel had arrived however upon opening it I found a D300s. I'm assuming that he realised he didn't have any D300 left and sent the nearest model instead. But I was still only charged the amount for the D300 which was about £200 less. I know laura is now wondering whether or not to keep it as she was worried about getting a D300s as it doesn't seem to have the best of reviews. She was thinking of getting a camera with video at some point as it would be useful however she was concerned with it basically being more electronics to go wrong.

Considering the discount on it would people advise sticking with it? I'm going back home to Ireland tomorrow so wouldn't have the time to organise getting a replacement sorted out if he did send the wrong one. It would have to be sending it back for a refund most likely and getting a camera at some other point, otherwise it will have to sent to my parents to be forwarded on to us which could cost a fortune. Any thoughts or ideas?
