BC given your interest in street photography you may like to take a look at this.

Did you guess the lens he was using before he told you?

Re: Street photography video

Thanks for that JR, interesting, you would think they all look the same against the same background, same camera and lens but he brings out a personality each time. Problem with this country is people tend to be so suspicious and more inhibeted to shy away from that sort of stuff, but I can imagine if you had the nerve to do it you would get a few takers.

Interesting he uses that 50mm, right up close, would have thought 85mm when i first saw it. That means getting out my 35mm...need a nerve. I find if i try and get people to pose they lose the original features of their face I wanted, with a few exceptions.

Wouldn't it be great to have a D3. Not the sort of thing you can put in a holiday bag but they are great looking cameras besides the results and flexibility they bring. Still kick myself now, a mint boxed factory refurbished in a cklosing down Jessops a few months ago at £1800. Just came too early, didn't even have the D300 and wasn't so 'into it'. What a chance missed.

Re: Street photography video

The guy has a relaxed, friendly approach which must be a big asset. He must also have been helped by the obvious presence of the video crew. I cannot believe that he didn't get quite a number of refusals which he hasn't recorded and it all looks so easy peasy. Still don't think I would have the nerve to try it.

Re: Street photography video

Some people are quite aggresive or dismissive, and some people don't mind, many are suspicious...I'm quite a big guy, I think people find that intimidating, and I don't look like a young hip good looking trendy student like Dan!

Re: Street photography video

Fascinating video - thanks for sharing - some food for thought, but I'm pretty sure I don't have the guts for such things!
