Also been experimenting with textures today

My other thing to try out today is textures.
I've been inspired by all the amazing textured photos on Flickr so thought I should have an experiment.
Thoughts / hints / advice anyone?

Re: Also been experimenting with textures today

Photography as an art is really all about experimentation and lots of trial and error - It's just extremely frustrating until you hit on something that works well. However, the combination of experience and experimentation will ultimately yield successes to please one's heart, mind and eye. Pleasing others is another matter.

While I agree with J, there's nowt wrong with getting the opinion of others, too

I like what you've done - esp the first one, think it suits the subject/feel of the photo perfectly, well done and keep up the practising/good work.

Re: Also been experimenting with textures today

They're all very interesting I think you're really doing well with experimenting - I'm doing something in PS at the moment and it's breaking my brain :*( I've been trying for hours, and it should be so simple, but I just can't do it :*(

Thats my favourite too - but I don't trust my judgement yet. Whenever I see a photo I love, someone comes along behind me and points out all its problems and I'm left feeling ahhh of course, why didn't I see that!

As for textures, they were so easy to do that I was wondering if i was missing something!

Re: Also been experimenting with textures today

Emma, I think I said on another of your posts that I like the things you're doing esp. your willingness to experiment and be creative. The first one of these is really good (well I like it) and all your compositions seem to work well.

Portraits aren't really my thing but I'd love to have some nice shots of my girls. Every time you post yours they give me ideas but I never seem to get the results.
