Re: brother looking for cheap but really good SLR?

I would say the D70 BUT you will need to find out how many "clicks" it has left. Every camera has a lifespan of aprox 50000 clicks before the shutter life "expires" and will be in need of replacing. The seller can find this out using Nikon software but im not entirley sure how...

That said, the next best option would be the Oly - they are the dark horse of the dslr market and make cracking cameras with a good range of lenses

Re: brother looking for cheap but really good SLR?

Bazza had a D70s, (next one up from the D70) I dont think he was too impressed with it, I think it only had 6MP or something so cropping and enlarging was difficult in many cases.

Canon 100-400mm L IS USM.
Canon EF 50mm f/2.5 macro

Re: brother looking for cheap but really good SLR?

I have an oly e500 & I love it.
After researching loads of different cameras I found it to be most comfortable in my hand & less of a load round my neck

The lenses are great quality & the kit ones are very usuable.
Kit 1
Olympus e520
Zuiko Digital ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6
Zuiko 14-45 mm, F/3.5-5.6
Zuiko 40-150 mm, F/3.5-4.5
My Compact/P&S: Fuji E510
