Latest opportunities from Red Bull Reporter:

------------------------

They dig their dream trails - Filmmaker wanted!

25.09.2010 / Mote Park

The best BMX dirt trails, built for the best, by the best

For the first time ever, Red Bull Backyard Digger has touched down on British soil on a quest to bring the best dirt trails imaginable to the UK.

We’ve teamed up with our very own Kye Forte to create the Red Bull Backyard Digger competition where we’ve been on the hunt for the best location to build these dream trails. BMX enthusiasts from all over the country entered the competition; however we are proud to announce that Red Bull Backyard Digger will be heading to Mote Park in Maidstone. Alex Tenters, James Walton and Alex Brown submitted this BMX hotspot where the team are now preparing to get designing and digging for the start of the build in September.

We are on the lookout for an inspired filmmaker to head to Mote Park to dish the dirt and dig out all of the information on the build. If you think that you’ve got what it takes then make sure you submit your best piece of work and tag it with ‘Red Bull Backyard Digger’ to be in with a chance of reporting from this unique project.

Red Bull Catch 2:2 Final - Aspiring Writer Wanted!

17.09.2010 / Oval, London

You’d probably think that we were lying if we said that we’ve invented a game of cricket that takes only 15 minutes and four people to play… and you’d probably laugh in our faces if we told you that the Oval is going to host it. Still not convinced? Well read on…

Red Bull Catch 2:2 has taken cricket fans up and down the country by storm this summer. The traditional rules of cricket have been defied to create an accelerated new format of the game that can be played by four people, in 15 minutes. The rules are simple: two teams, two players, and two overs. Rapid, rule-breaking, and really good fun.

We’re extremely excited to announce that the final of the quintessentially English sport with a twist is fast approaching. Excited? Of course you are. But there’s more! The final is taking place at the England v. Pakistan One Day International at the one and only Oval on 17 September.

We’re looking for a writer who’s got the skills to bowl us over with an action-packed report from the event. If you fit the bill, then what are you waiting for? Make sure you don’t let this fantastic opportunity slip through your fingers by submitting your best piece of work and tagging it with ‘Red Bull Catch 2:2 Final’.

Frome Cobble Wobble 2010 - Aspiring Photographer Wanted!

17.09.2010 / Frome

This September, Red Bull is supporting what can arguably be described as the UK’s take on the Tour de France – Frome’s Cobble Wobble. Picture this – hundreds of crazy cyclists time trialling up 179 yards of steep cobbles in the sleepy town of Archangel, each aiming to make the best time. Obviously, we take this sport very seriously and are therefore on the hunt for the King of the Cobbles 2010.

The fastest 20 riders from the whole Cobble Wobble will be timed to establish the Charge Bikes King of the Cobbles 2010. Once the cobbled chaos has calmed down, the winner will be crowned at the exciting awards ceremony taking place after the event.

If you think that this all sounds too bizarre to be true, and feel like you’ve got to see it for yourself then hesitate no longer. We’re looking for an aspiring photographer to come along and capture all of the mayhem, as and when it happens. Up for the challenge? Simply submit your best piece of work and tag it with ‘Frome Cobble Wobble 2010’.

Red Bull Break 5 Surf Competition- Filmmaker Wanted!

mid-September / location TBA

Back in the day, surf competitions were not so much about winning stacks of cash, but more about a group of people getting together and sharing their love for the sport – and not forgetting the amazing parties too. On a quest to put a combination of light-hearted fun and a bit of healthy competition back into the sport, Red Bull invites surfers from all over the UK to rock up and battle it out – where the vibe is just as important as the trophy (well, almost!)

We’re on the lookout for a talented filmmaker to capture all of the magic of this event. If you think that you’ve got the skills to create something spectacular, then what are you waiting for? Submit your best piece of work and tag it with ‘Red Bull Break 5’ for the chance to report from this incredible event.

Re: Red Bull Reporter News Thread - opportunities for aspiring photographers!

I may be wrong ,but it looks to me as if this Redbullreporter is after photographs for nothing.

I can't see anywhere , although I admit I havn't looked through all the site links, what they are prepared to pay for members time and effort, let alone equipment usage

Therefore I would strong recommend no member takes up the challange without determining the fees paid for submitted photos.

Sounds like yet another scam to me.

If not lets see the fees paid- to who (contact details) -when-what events and copyright details

Re: Red Bull Reporter News Thread - opportunities for aspiring photographers!

Hello

Just to clear up any confusion, Red Bull Reporter is a nationwide search to find the best young writers, filmmakers, photographers and presenters giving them the chance of a lifetime to report from music, culture and sports events across the globe. The assignments are geared towards aspiring photographers who might be amateurs / media students looking to get some of their work noticed and wishing to gain some experience in a media environment.

The assignments are unpaid, however expenses e.g travel, accommodation etc are paid for by Red Bull and of course, the applicants gain media access to some of the most exciting global music and sporting events. They also get to see their work on great media platforms, giving them the opportunity for exposure and recognition. All of this is and more is explained in detail on the Red Bull Reporter website in the FAQ's and Terms and Conditions.

www.redbullreporter.com

The newest assignment is now live -they are currently looking to take an aspiring photographer over to the Red Bull BC One BB-boy battle in Tokyo at the end of November.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for aspiring photographers or media students looking for media experience to fly to Japan and report on a really special event with the Red Bull team. To reiterate, this an unpaid experience, however, all expenses e.g. travel, and accommodation etc. will be paid for by Red Bull.

Good luck to those applying!

------------------------
Red Bull BC One

24.11.10-28.11.10 / Tokyo, Japan

On November 27, Red Bull BC One will touch down on Japanese soil for the biggest one-on-one B-Boy event of the year.

In its seventh year, the world’s most prestigious one-on-one battle is coming to Tokyo where 16 of the best break dancers from across the globe will compete across a number of heats to be crowned ‘The One’.

A 3,000-strong crowd will flock to the infamous Yoyogi stadium to witness a battle like no other. This is without a doubt Red Bull Reporter’s most exciting assignment to date, and is definitely not one to be missed!

We want to take a talented, outgoing and adventurous photographer with us to capture the magic of this unique event. If this is an opportunity that you cannot let pass by then make sure you submit your best photography by no later than 12pm on Friday 5th November and tag it with ‘Red Bull BC One’.

http://www.redbullreporter.com/2010/...bull-bc-one-5/

As this assignment is overseas, you must ensure that you have a valid passport and that you’re free from Wednesday 24th November – Sunday 28th November.
