Can you retrieve pics erased from memory card?

Hi folks, I'm so annoyed, all the pics I took over Christmas have somehow gone from my memory card, I forgot to take the cable with me so I couldn't put them on the laptop as I went, I don't know how it happened either, they were there last night, but had gone this morning, is there a way I can get them back, or have they gone for good. It's a maxell SD 2GB

Ah im not to sure about Maxell. I use SanDisk - iv got a recovery disk that i ca use if i delete images ect and i want to retrieve them again. Have you checked Maxells website for something similar??
