Picfolio fixed (I think!!!)

We've got rid of all those bugs now on Picfolio and tried it again and again on all sorts of PCs and Macs/browser combos. Its loading pretty fast with the big shots now and (fingers crossed) no white screens any more. Anything up to 10 megs is OK at this stage.

Do let me know if it works for you now, assuming that you're not all totally fed up with trying

Cheers, Nick

Re: Picfolio fixed (I think!!!)

Hi Melody,

I'm determined to get to the bottom of why it works for some and not for others.

Could you possibly email the file to me? My addy is nick@cliffe.co.uk

will then try it and see if there are any differences in the title or file format or anything else we can think of.

Thanks once again for trying.

Re: Picfolio fixed (I think!!!)

Thanks Melody,

I just tried uploading your photo and the same happened to me, so it must be something to do with the image. Yet I can't se any difference between the format of yours and any others that we successfully upload. Weird huh? But now at least we have something specific to hunt for, so thanks very much

I'll keep ya posted on progress!

Re: Picfolio fixed (I think!!!)

Hi Melody,

I've reduced your photo to 9.51 megabytes when open and saved it as a max quality jpeg.

Sadly, the current 10 megabyte ceiling for file size is determined by the size of he image when open, not the compressed file size when not opened.

Sorry about this – we'll do what we can to increase the file size capacity but it does seem to cause other problems on the server.

Here's how it looks at just under 10 megs...

Re: Picfolio fixed (I think!!!)

No worries Melody, file deleted on Picfolio! And please don't think you've got it wrong - most people myself included have often regarded the file size as being what it's compressed to as far as uploading or sending is concerned. I too was confused by the way the uploading software worked, but now all we need to look at is the bottom left of the window (in Photoshop that is) and check the file size displayed there.

If you want it displayed at high quality then the best thing to do once you've got it to 10 megs or less is to save it as a jpeg buy at maximum quality, or 12 on the scale.

By the way, I was looking at your macro shots and they are truly superb
