Re: 50mm f1.8 :D

It's still the cheapest Nikon prime. The manual E series tends to be found secondhand for less but even at £85, the 1.8 AF or AF-D is still an ok price. If you don't like it you are going to get the same back for it though if you sell it

As I said in my earlier post I personally don't think it is that versatile but that's just me and based on having options of other kit that may do a similar job. It rather depends on what you photograph. As you already have this focal length covered the main benefit of this lens really is in isolating a subject within a shallow depth of field and at a quality that will surpass that 18-55. However, if you look at Bob Mielkes pictures on here, you will see what that 18-55 can do and feel quite inspired.

Littleme - Ohhh don't buy from Crazy cameras, it's one of those too good to be true sites, who open up, get your credit card details bill it, and a lot of the time you can kiss your money good bye

http://www.avforums.com/forums/digit...cameras-2.html

I think in the case of photography equipment if the price is unbelievable, then you could kiss goodbye to your money. Or get an import , with no warranty etc.

One day tho
That's exactly how I feel!! I wanted the 1.4, and it's gone up too.

Re: 50mm f1.8 :D

If anyone is looking for a Nikon 50mm 1.8D or a Canon 50mm I came across a little site tonite that sells both at what seems an excellent price. £85.00 for the Nikon and £70 for the Canon!

I checked with the company and they had stock of them, just after I had managed to find one on eBay - always the way isn't it.... anyway here's the link to the site if it's of use, maybe some of their other products could be of interest

http://www.onestop-digital.com/catalog/index.php

NB: Just found out the above company is based in HK, no wonder they're so cheap! Sorry for the misleading info
