Re: Depth of Field

Just wondering if I should move my very novice attempts to a seperate thread and leave this as a tutorial with proper examples in! Don't want to clutter it up with my beginner experiments!

Re: Depth of Field

Don't worry Little me, if Azz wants to move it he will but to see peoples efforts is good - I know when you start it is hard to believe that your work could help the more experienced but it does. Everyones efforts are valid and we all learn from your experiments. You should also have taken a shot of your daughter so her head was in focus, so we can all say Ahh!

Use a narrow aperture, that is one with a high number about 16 or even 22 should do and move in close so she fills the viewfinder, focus on her face and click using the flash to fill in if the light is a bit low.

Re: Depth of Field

No they're good LM - as everything you're going through, someone else may be too

If you get time, on your next one, try something a bit closer to the camera, like a loaf of bread or something

Re: Depth of Field

Nice one Tagalong - you can clearly see the difference between the 1st and 2nd/3rd pics

Just one tip - with high f numbers you may need to use a tripod to keep the camera steady.
