Re: Memory Card Problem

When mine connects, its off, then I switch camera on, then press playback click a button on screen and I get two copies of all my photos (two different locations, one I know won't be edited, so I know where originals are, the other folder I can muck about with). When the indicator lamp is off I switch off and disconnect. Never thought about a virus making the camera blow tho.

Have two USB3 card readers now just in case I misplace one again.

as you have a USB3 card reader your computer also has USB3 connectivity I presume. My question is how much faster is the download time against the USB2 equivilant? I only ask as my soon to be built computer will have both USB2 and USB3. Downloading a long video takes ages at the moment on my other computers which are USB2 only.

Hi Baz

Yes, my comp does have USB3 (I done a major upgrade last year, new motherboard, memory, graphics card, hard drives) and I can say that it is considerably faster than USB2 but it is hard to quantify as I changed so much hardware.

I have got 2 x USB2 sockets on the comp and an older USB2 card reader. Over the weekend I will try to see what the difference is when uploading the same Raw files.

on the whole though I would say USB3 is the way to go.

Re: Memory Card Problem

I got to format the card in camera . Took a few snaps, and they all seem to be on there. Also the camera is reading 500+ pics left in raw mode.
It seems to ok. What would you do yourself, carry on with it on bin it? )aimed at anyone).

Re: Memory Card Problem

Well I got a nice result in the end. The good people at Jessops (camera store in the UK) swapped my card over for a nice shiny new faster one. So thumbs up to them

Re: Memory Card Problem

Cheers Bazza, I have replied. Sorry for the delay but it was such a nice evening I popped down the quay for a wander about. Really enjoyable.

Suppose you went as far as the lock only to find the quay didn't fit, so you made a bolt for home
