Thank you My previous camera is also digital and to my shame I have`nt a clue what settings it has, I never did anything more than point and hope and always used Auto only - I think I ought to get that one out again and see what options it has, even though its only a 1.3mp it always took beautifully clear photo`s - wonder where I put it

Thank you Have to admit, my Lurcher boy is usually so `debonair` it was lovely for me to have got him looking goofy, it`s his personality through and through, and T`Akaya, I adore her ears in that one, and her expression, and she loves the camera bless her, she`s such a little show-off

Thank you I suppose it`s mostly lack of confidence really, when it come`s to technology I just don`t have a natural aptitude for it, but all the lovely comments have given me a real boost of determination not to let it beat me

Fanx Azz I`ve been determined to get a decent shot of my boy running, and I know it`s not a perfect photo but there`s just something about it, [ for me ], which has captured his essence, even if I ever manage to get a technically great shot one day I will `feel` this one as special to me

I know what you mean with Fluke, the Saluki shows through most when he runs in that typically Sighthound way, which means combined with predominant Collie braincell he`s a super-fast intelligent lad - a dangerous combination T`Akaya is his Mini Me, though in her mind she`s a giant bless her She is mentally JRT predominant in a collie speed body - also a dangerous combination


I have six altogether My other three are getting on a bit and are`nt really toy orientated but now I know how to use the Burst I should be able to get some better agility shots of my eldest lad and some clearer one`s of the other two when they run in the paddock,[ they need a bot more room for take off and landing, they need to loosen off the older joints and get up momentum these days ]

I find leaving it to it`s own devices encourages growth and there are holes, just not in camera shot

Seriously though, I never thought of that, I was just excited to get the burst going I tried a few this evening, will put them in a separate post

I have tried some on the sport setting,[ found that a few nights ago too ]. and managed some decent-ish agility shots, but had to have a few tries at each one as the shutter speed is much slower so I had to have the dogs do things a few times for me to get the timing right

I have found it very hard getting shots of them where they don`t almost glow, photographically their coats really are bright white so I always find they seem to `bleach` in photo`s but I will keep trying

Annoyingly according to the manual, [ and through trying it despite the manual ], the burst option is`nt available with the camera on sport setting, it does`nt make sense as surely that`s when it would be most beneficial to get fast paced shots

Just a couple of new shots which I took today, following Dawns advice I crouched down for these, the perspective is noticeably different to me, I like it
The pics are a teeny bit blurry but that was down to me being a bit wobbly balancing on haunches and not having a steady hand - I have an old tripod somewhere that was for an old fashioned video camera, I think I`ll dig it out and adapt it so that I can avoid camera shake

Only a few this time as the light was going a bit but I`ll practice tomorrow and Sunday and see what I can come up with

Fluke looks really different running toward me at this angle, and luckily he can swerve well so he did`nt collide with me, [ which is what he looked like he would do through the lens ]

and this one - lots of camera shake on this one because yep, a second later I toppled backward, her turning and braking system is`nt as good as Flukes

Thank you I can`t express how exciting it is for me, sounds really wet I know but it means so much to me to start finally getting nice photo`s of my doglets and knowing I have every chance of making them better and better thanks to the help and encouragement I`m getting, you guys are stars



Her name in rescue was.... Cutie Had to rename her though as she is such a substantial little girl I wanted her to have a substantial name, and everyone she meets calls her a cutie anyway so she gets the best of both

Had a little practice today, not too much as it`s so hot for them, but Dawn, if it were`nt for your great tip about getting more on their level I would never have got these two shots which I`m chuffed to bits with - again, they are far from perfect I know, but I`m starting to get a feel for it, so I know what to be aiming for from now on, thank you so much Dawn





While I know now what to aim for, all further tips and hints/critiques are most welcome to help me achieve it quicker

Probably looking at lots of camera brochures to see what I could dare consider buying at some point when I feel I might be able to do a posher camera a bit of justice at least after I`ve knuckled down to trying out every possible setting on my current one and after I find where the heck I put my old Canon A10 Powershot which according to the specs I looked up last night can do Burst shots as well but I never knew, I did`nt realise it could anything more than `auto`
