Eureka ! Sussed the Burst option yay !

At last ! After being convinced either
A] the burst option on my camera did`nt work
or
B] I was too thick to suss it

it turned out to be B

Luckily last night I was shown the equivalent setting on someone else`s camera so managed to find how to do it on mine too

Unfortunately it can only take up to three shots per burst and oddly it can`t do it in the Sport or anti-blur settings, but what the heck I can finally take shots of my dogs running / playing without them just being a blur or getting the timing so wrong that I get a lovely shot of an expanse of ground but no dog to be seen

Had a play today, lot`s of work needed for distance, angle`s, lighting and all that but hey just getting it working is a revolution for me

If anyone wants to critique, please be gentle, I`m a total beginner at this `technology on a camera` game, [ yes, yes, and a basic camera at that ].

Lots of pics, got carried away

"Get out of my shot squirt"

"Love my frisbee"

"Fluke prepares for a stealth pounce"

"Silk plans to get even"

"Darn, can`t catch him, I`ll copy his tail instead"

"Do you come here often?"

"Prepare to grin..."

"Grin !!"

"0 to 60 in the blink of an eye"

"Gimme the ball gimme the ball"

"Oi, I said gimme the ball"

"Muuuuum he won`t gimme the ball !"

and finally, [ for now ]

Poetry in motion

I have loads more but this lot is already pushing the `send everyone to sleep` quota

Reckon the dogs had as much fun as you did, well done if you are not keen on technical things you really have to be determined to succeed and not, like my sister, loose your cool just before you get the hang of it. Very brave of you to take it up at all really and therefore I award you a gold star for effort and another for achievement and if you are not careful I'll give you a

Re: Eureka ! Sussed the Burst option yay !

Patch, I meant to say, you can really see the hound in Fluke when he is running, never really noticed it before, and how much bigger he is than Takaya(I think I have spelt that wrong). You can see the JRT in her in the ball shots.

I am impressed you have three dogs , and you have grass that is able to grow and no holes

Re: Eureka ! Sussed the Burst option yay !

Hi Patch.
If I may give you a few pointers for photgraphing Dogs.

Get down to their level, its much better and gives a whole new perspective.

From your photo data (EXIF) you are using the normal program setting, looking at your cameras specs, you have a "sports" setting. Try this for starters, it automatically increases the shutter speed to stop the blur and adjusts the aperture accordingly. This way the photo wont be so over exposed and the "whites" on the dogs wont look so "in your face." This setting will also take a "burst" of photos, you will probably need to keep the button pressed down to take the burst.

Just a suggestion, when you get the hang of shutter speeds and aperture, you'll be great! dogs look FAB by the way!
