Re: Early morning mist

Looks a bit washed out Ken, nice idea though capturing the shadow off the folly. Maybe would have worked out better if you photographed it from a different angle.

Re: Early morning mist

Hi Grant

Thanks for the reply, yes it was very misty and I was shooting into the sun, plus there was a light frost on the ground too. But you are right the down sized picture for some reason looks worse on my office screen (23" LG) than the full sized version does at home on my big iMac.

Re: Early morning mist

I must agree with Grant on this one Ken. There's just not enough contrast in the sky and background in general to make the mist/fog appealing.

Re: Early morning mist

Hi Ken I am not the best to comment, as I am still at the point and shoot stage of photography. But I must agree that there is a lack of contrast over the image and does have a washed out look.

Maybe a diifferent time of day when the mist had burnt off a bit.
I know you would struggle to get the long shadow a bit later in the day.

Thanks guys for your honesty, I'll have another little play with it in LR3.

Gordon, you may be at the point & shoot stage but your view is as valid as anybody else's, if there is one thing I have learnt from the internet over many years is that some pictures are universally liked and some have more varied appeal

Re: Early morning mist

Since I post on about 6 photographic forums I can yell you that opinions drastically change from forum to forum. I have to chuckle sometimes at how many are polar opposites.
