Re: Just one

Thankyou all for looking .

Hi Phil , sorry I missed your question , must be my age 21 and a bit .

Well the MK4 !!!! ... I am probably not the best person to ask , as my experience has been bad so far , with many inconsistencies with AI focus tracking . The camera is a few months old and this Thursday i took it back to cps for the third and last time ... I hope !!! .

They loan me a camera while they fix , and within a few minutes I was excited with again . When this type of thing happens after going through all the after alternatives , and there are many , but easy when it works as it should .

I have a decision to upgrade and change kit and was very disappointed ... BUT the loan camera is bashed and knocked about but it performs as I would expect , and how every pro photographer was telling it should .

Phil , I wanted to stick with the pro end bodies as I have had them since 2000 ... Nikon F4 , Nikon D1 , Nikon D1H , Canon 1DMk2 ( I must have had a good one ... I loved it , should never have part ex it ... you learn ) Canon 1DMK3 ( only a short time spent with this ) and now a 1DMK4 .

I have six years before I retire to Thailand , so deciding if I should buy a 500 F4 or get a 300 2.8 MK2 , at the moment I am swaying towards the 300 , as I shoot action / sports and would like to continue freelance out there . I have a mk3 1.4 converter and it is brilliant , some say there is no difference but I can tell you there is , on the 70- 200 2.8L is mk2 at least .

If my camera comes back and works the same as the loaner then I will be happy otherwise I will have to go through the nightmare of taking it back to the retailer . I can not afford a 1DX so it would be a 5dmk3 or a complete change to Nikon and get the older D3s + a 300 2.8 mk2 at virtually the same price as the Canon 1DX .

Hope this helps , if you wish I will keep you updated .

Ps I am just off to a Thai lunch so scratched this together , so if I have miss spelled anything ...forgive me .

Roy

Re: Just one

love the tones and color, looks pretty sharp too. what has you not quite convinced about the mk 4? the 5d mk 3 didn't entice me to upgrade from my 5d mk 2.
