Its one of those heart stopping moments, I dropped a favorite lens , it fell off the worktop, not so long ago. I thought that it must have been damaged but the lens hood took most of the impact and saved the lens, he hood was ok as well.

One thing for sure is you double check that it is not going to happen again.
