If its anything like the D50, its well worth the money Stormey...

So is this an addition or entry level replacement for the D40 / D40X (still quite new) or D80 ?

I think so.

D60 as with the D40, I'd probably not upgrade to from D50. Would still be looking at D80 or D200

You must get the D200! Phil! If your hands could fall inlove a first touch, this is the one to do it!!

I'd be more than happy with the D80 but when I look at the prices I do think it might be worth the extra for the more robust build of the 200 as I do tend to get out and about in the hills.

Sometimes I get a rush of blood and think I'll just go and buy it - then I get all sensible and feel I can't really justify it.
