ClamShell lighting

(We really need a light section Azz )

Soooooooo, now I have my lush new lights, I can get a bit more experimental with set ups!

This set up is called "Clam Shell". The idea of this type of light is to minimise any blemishes and create flattering shadows and natural even light - Its good for beauty shots.

The set up for the shot below is a follows:

Strobes:
  • 1 x Strobe with 110cm shoot through umbrella directly below subject set at 1/2 power
  • 1 x Strobe with 60cm softbox directly above subject set at 1/1 power
  • 1 x Strobe bounced back with silver umbrella for background seperation set at 1/1
Camera settings:
  • ISO: 100
  • Shutter: 1/250
  • Aperture: F16
