"Dressmann" commercial

So I'm shooting for this magazine (Amfi Magasinet) about one time a month, and this time was pretty much the first time I've taken a shot I was satisfied with.

This will be the cover, and then two more full pagers inside, along with two pages of product shots which I also shot.

Nikon D700 with 50 f/1.4

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

Not a bad shot, lovely colours and clarity - but for me the background vyes for attention with the models :/ there's a few things in there that are quite distracting, like the blurry line (probably a stand or something?) in the bottom corner.

On the whole a nice shot though.

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

Nice work T. Agree with Z about the background - I'd simply darken those ties behind the model or desaturate them a bit.

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

Good idea - I think darkening and desaturating the background over all would help!

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

Thanks a lot guys!

The background is the way it is because I wanted it to be. A part of the point with this shot is to show off the store

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

OK - as long as you are happy with the end result, and the client is happy, that's what matters - but C&Cing it from my personal view, it's too busy and the couple don't stand out enough.

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

I think the problem with this shot (for me anyway), is you've shot him against another image which is actually better than the shot you've taken.
It kinda steals the show a bit for me.
Despite the guy being the main focus of the shot, and also a pretty girl to look at, my eyes are still drawn to the image on the wall, which kinda defeats the purpose of your image.
I disagree with the others regarding the stock being a distraction though, and I completely disagree with Phil about the girl having nice legs.

Re: "Dressmann" commercial

For a store advert I think it works very well. For me it says 'Smart modern man, quality store, personal touch'. I am not bothered by the ties or the background photo, it is a store location. If I were to be ultra nitpicking I would remove the white cone from the back of the girls head.
