Some birds from the last wee while :)

Just a few shots from the last little while. Been doing a fair bit of birding what with it being the season and all! I have more to upload - some have made it onto Facebook already, but my computer has had many problems and I lost the web sized uploads so I have to do them again (or else download from Facebook and re-upload - which would be awful!)

Disclaimer:
Many of these are not good photography - I am very acutely aware of that, but I thought I'd share them because they are special to me, and I thought other birders might be interested

Sooo... for now:

Firstly, my star! A Red Eyed Vireo - possibly bird of the year for me (well... maybe the Pallid Harrier beats it, but no shots )

I'll put the less rare ones in a different thread, or this is going to get huge!

Re: Some birds from the last wee while :)

I'm not a Twitcher, so I can't really comment on the wonders of the birds, but I can appreciate that some of these shots must have been very hard to capture, also some must have been incredibly hard to get focused. So well done, you must have an amazing amount of patience Laura

Re: Some birds from the last wee while :)

It was more the distance they were from me... and of course I'm not one to get too close because it does bother the birds, and the very last thing I want to do is scare them off or upset them to get a good shot - the end photograph is just not more important than the welfare of the subject to me. I know some togs will do anything to get that bit closer... and I just don't like it. I'd rather have poor shots and know that I watched the subject without causing it any upset Especially with these rarer migrants, because they've all come a very long way and they're already exhausted and stressed out - they don't need people adding to that.

Re: Some birds from the last wee while :)

Greatly envious of the Vireo, and Woodchat Shrikes are one of my favorite birds too watch.

I have plenty of record shots and dont mind taking those myself, some of mine are so poor only i know what they are

And you have had a Pallid Harrier as well, thats got to be a a belter, i also applaud your respect for the birds Zoundz, wish there were more like you around.
