Capture NX2 out now!

Just had these details via email:

Quote:
More powerful, even easier: Capture NX2

Nikon’s revolutionary Capture NX image-editing software just got even better! With a range of powerful new features and easy, intuitive operation, Capture NX2 looks set to be another award-winner.
As well as the acclaimed Colour Control Point, NX2’s new Selection Control Point enables enhancements such as unsharp mask and D-lighting to specific areas. Auto Retouch Brush lets you brush away dust specks at the stroke of the mouse while Quick Fix combines frequently used tools such as level and tone curve, exposure compensation and saturation in one window and enables multi-task processing. Workspaces, based on assumed workflow, and an improved Edit List further enhance efficient operation.

Re: Capture NX2 out now!

I had the NX Capture first version, and had to abandon it, because it was very slow. Now I am using mostly Lightroom, but I feel that the output from NX Capture simply was better - with better colors and finer touch. Unfortunately, I have often a lot of photos to work on and I could not always wait and wait... So now I use NX only on the few very best images, if they go for special print etc.
Can anyone tell me, if the new NX Capture is faster?

Re: Capture NX2 out now!

I found NX 1 quite clunky, but like you found it the best when dealing with Nikon Raw files. I just couldn't get used to their way of doing things.

Are they offering a free trial on NX2 like they did on NX1 Mirka? Might be worth downloading (you can tell us what its like then )

NX

Re: Capture NX2 out now!

Not a bad idea, perhaps they do offer a free trial version. Itīs unlikely though, that Iīll have time to search for it and download any soon. Would love to hear though from anyone, who already tried the new version!
