Sony A700

Hi guys..
Well, in my first post a few weeks ago I said I would be getting a new DSLR, and today...after weeks and weeks of trawling through review after review, as well as doing some much needed soul searching, I decided NOT to go for the Cannon 40D, and opted instead for the
Sony Alpha a700.
Canon lovers...I know I've commited a cardinal sin...please forgive me!
In most of the reviews I read, the Sony came out on top, which surprised even me. I had them both in my hand today, and I just felt more comfortable with the Sony.
Anyhoo...
I managed to get a decent deal, and although I saved myself some money, I then spent it on some accessories.
This is what I bought:

Sony Alpha a700
Sony DT 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 zoom lens
Carl Ziess 85mm F1.4ZA Planar T* lens
Sony HVL-F36AM High Performance Flash
Sony VG-C70AM Battery Grip
Manfrotto 680B Monopod

I'm as happy as a pig in....well...you know what, and I just can't wait to take my first snaps with it.

Re: Sony A700

Many people over look the Sony and Oly's. These are just as good, especially the Sony. Glad you found something that suits

Re: Sony A700

I actually almost bought a D300. It was within my budget, but I couldn't afford any extras with it. It was a magnificent piece of kit! Maybe next time.
