Speke's Gazelle

My sister was asking me a few questions about photos of Speke's Gazelles I'd sent her. I decided on today's zoo trip to concentrate on capturing them with my new D800 with a 70-300mm lens aboard. I dida fairly decent job of filling the frame with them to lessen the affects of the harsh sunlight we had here again today. People from the Pacific Northwest are not used to that golden yellow thing in the sky. We need regular doses of Vitamin D to augment our lack of sunshine.

Re: Speke's Gazelle

What amazing looking creatures! I'd not encountered them before! They remind me of Junglies!

Good work!

Re: Speke's Gazelle

I love the crazy grin on the female. They are built long & lean so they can stand on their hind legs while feeding on foliage higher up.

Re: Speke's Gazelle

Very nice Bob - I like the composition in terms of how their necks cross.

Re: Speke's Gazelle

I've had the D800 since May 12th and report that it's the most amazing camera I've ever had the privilege to own. I've used only FX full frames lenses with it and can really see the difference in sharpness, color saturation and snap in my images.

It also helps that I've upgraded to Photoshop 6.0 and my plug-in software to match. All the plug-in software upgrades were free. Adobe really outdid itself with the latest version. The new Camera Raw module is worth the price of the upgrade all by itself. Of course I try to get as close to my mind's eye of the finished print but it doesn't hurt to have the best graphic software available for touch-ups.

Thanks for looking & for all your comments.
