Re: Lamb Chops

Very very cute of course, but white can be quite difficult in bright sunshine, well that's what i have found, I like both images

Re: Lamb Chops

White animals and bright sunny days do not bode well for "correctly" exposed images. I should know with the very predominantly white dogs I have.

At the picture taking stage I always dial in 2/3rds or 1 full stop of under exposure which helps to a certain extent. Then after loading them into Lightroom I have a fiddle with the exposure, recovery and fill sliders.

The only problem being once the highlights are blown it is impossible to regain any detail in those areas as there is no image data there to play with. One can manage to pull a bit of detail from the shadow areas so I prefer to expose slightly on the side of under exposure rather than over.

Oh, and I soot in RAW as it is nigh on impossible to to recover the blown highlights with JPEG's without introducing a lot of noise.

I'll not go into the problems I used to have when I had a black Lab & a white Springer. Nightmare scenario
