Texture Screens For Dramatic Effects

I was playing with this week's Patch's Challenge and came up with a cool effect by using a texture screen that looked like an old piece of rawhide. I liked the result enough to collect the steps used to get there & present them here. Enjoy

Step #1 - The unedited original photo

Step #2 - Enhance the contrast/levels/sharpness & color

Step #3 - Size the Texture to match the Enhanced Photo.

Step #4 - Blend the Texture Screen using Overlay and the Enhanced Photo while erasing the screen area, allowing the Enhanced photo to show through.

Step #5 - Adjust the opacity of the Texture Screen and merge the layers together. Not bad for a couple of old outhouses! LOL

Re: Texture Screens For Dramatic Effects

I absolutely love it - I'm totally useless at photoshop - so it's good to see how you got there -though I still doubt I could do it I always think textures look so great - but have no idea how to do them! :/

Re: Texture Screens For Dramatic Effects

Nice one Bob.

I keep spotting things that would make nice terxture screens but never get around to trying it.

When camping in the Cairngorms last week I took a few close up shots of rough stone slabs which might just do the trick so watch this space.....

Re: Texture Screens For Dramatic Effects

Good job Bob, could you also remove the notice from the door I keep thinking it may say 'Gents' and that add an added dimension to the scene I would rather not have.
