Advice please (cropping & enlarging in focus)

Hi, can anyone give me some advice please, I've just received a pic of my grand-daughter who I haven't seen for over a year the pic is probably taken with a phone camera or something small, I want to seperate the pic of Georgia and enlarge it, which I've managed to do, but the pic becomes quite distorted and really not worth doing, is there anything I can do to improve it, sorry but I really don't want to put the pic on here, well not without her mums permision.
Thank you

Re: Advice please (cropping & enlarging in focus)

You can always shrink resolutions to fit, but enlarging them is impossible really.

Being a phone cam, one would guess it's a small resolution camera. Enlarging it will only stretch the pixels making it look awful.

If you do get chance to post it, i'm sure everyone would still have a go though.
