Heres 2 images of another one i cannot identify Laura. It was maybe a little smaller than a Thrush in size, was thinking it might of been a Skylark as the area this was taken is known for Skylarks but the markings did not look right to me, markings almost look like a Dunnocks although it was much bigger than a Dunnock. And Dunnocks have more V shaped tail feathers too...Any ideas??

That looks like a Chiff Chaff to me... not 100% sure as the photos are very dark, and they are smaller than Dunnocks :/ but it does look like one in the photo - and it also looks smaller than a Dunnock when compared to those buds. Are you *sure* it was a big bird? It really doesn't look to be! :/

Maybe this might help identifying the birds Laura.

May of been the way it was sat in the trees, looking bigger than it actually was. Like you say when you compare the size to the buds. Then again i think Dunnocks look much bigger when they are sat in the trees, then when you see them close up and on the ground they are tiny.....
It was pouring it down when this image was taken, and quite grey, and it did not sit there for long, enough time to get a couple of shots off.
It would be great if it was a Chiffchaff, i`ll see if i can lighten up the original image.

Looking at the video on RSPB website i am not inclined to say it is a Chiffchaff

A nice set there Mark. Those long tailed tits move pretty fast, and I have spent many hours trying to capture them..I particually like the nuthatch as I dont get to see many of them where I live..

Thanks Steve. I know the LTTs i see at home do not stay around for more than a minute, they arrive quickly and leave nearly as quickly, always struggle to get a good shot of them, any photograph taken of them always seems rushed.
This was my 1st Nuthatch too, i do not get them in the garden where i live, it was great watching them, the bit of branch he is sitting on, i think he was taking apart to make his nest, he would feed and then come and get a little bit of wood before flying to his nest to return again a few minutes later.
