Re: Cracking Amy

Great shots Alan - number 2 stands out as the chap is more photogenic than the others. You might want to contact them as they may well want to use that one officially...

Re: Cracking Amy

Thanks Azz,

I don't need to contact them though, they gave me the pass/ticket

It's the second time I have photograhed this band, and you are right, I got some good shots of the lead and rythm guitarists this time, last time I only got good shots of the vocalist and drummer, ah well, swings and roundabouts

Alan.

Re: Cracking Amy

Thanks Suzi

Thats the great thing about gig photography, you really don't have much idea what you will get until you have loaded all the images on to your PC.

Sometimes I get really annoyed when I see what I have, then other times I get back, convinced I have nothing because of lighting/where I stood/the band did look particulary good etc and you find you have one or two great shots (not this time though)

Thanks for looking
Alan.

* Cough* he is rather cutePretty boys and guitars, always a niicceeee combo Still my fave shot, but purely for photographic reasons.

It must be great when you look at the shots, and you have some great ones, makes up for the times you are disappointed. Who knows one day you will capture a shot like this ......
( I had this as a poster as a teenager on my bedroom wall, and now I have a framed print on my office wall) I just love it!

Hi ClairLou

I never use flash for my live work, I try to use the available light, although sometimes the light is so bad that you get very few shots.

As you correctly guessed, it's a case of upping the ISO, you get to a point though where the colour noise is so bad that you just have to convert everything to mono.

There are several styles of band photography, and I prefer to go for the sharp style of shot, which is very tricky, you need a fast shutter speed even in low light, so that makes life even trickier

Thanks for your comment and thanks for looking
