Chaffinch in the trees

This isn't much of a photo - but I liked the colours I actually took it from a distance, and an awkward angle, because at the time, where I was I couldn't tell what he was! but I rather liked the photo afterwards!

Re: Chaffinch in the trees

for me, the blurred (nevertheless prominent) foreground branches and the twig cutting through the bird's head ruin the picture.

Re: Chaffinch in the trees

It's a nice shot - but I do agree with JR that the twig at the front does spoil it a tad - sorry!

Re: Chaffinch in the trees

it's ok - i knew it did! As I said, it's not a good photo by any stretch - he was there for a split second, and it was literally a photo for id purposes - but i liked the colours afterwards

and thank you Jols! you made me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Re: Chaffinch in the trees

I like the colours too Laura and I am going to echo Jols' words Have more confidence in your abilities, since you got your new camera, your photography is going from strength to strength

If you are bothered about the branch do a square crop, and I think it will work xxx

Re: Chaffinch in the trees

Isn't it always the way, you see a chance to photograph a bird and the darn thing poses for you without any thought something might be in the way.

Animal photography must, I think, be one of the toughest subject to take, but when you get only one photo that is right it makes all the effort worth it.

That particular photo, irrespective of anything else, depicts the natural environment where one is lightly to see that kind of bird, ok it might not be as the others have pointed out perfect, but what is perfection anyway? answer something one can never achieve no matter how hard one tries.

Good effort
