Re: Flickr question

I've just tried fiddling and I found that if I set it to private first I could post it in a thread, but if I changed it to private later then it disapperared from the thread.

Re: Flickr question

For uploading to forums I use www.photobucket.com you can set your album to private so no-one can browse your photos but they still show when you hotlink them... and it's free too

Re: Flickr question

With Flickr if you change the privacy settings of an image from public to private for instance the image is given a new number (http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2653/3724025565_8406949a2c_o.jpg). Therefore if you have posted that image in thread in the past that image will no longer show because the img link will be the old one and not the new one.

I have a lot of hidden images in Flickr and they can all be viewed in threads.

Re: Flickr question

I have only just discoverd Flickr, until now I have been using photobucket.
Flickr seems so much easier to use though and I love the ease at which you can organise your photos.

Re: Flickr question

I don't like the cost of Flickr! I'm a bit of a tightwad when it comes to uploading stuff and find I'd rather lose a bit of quality using a free site than pay out. If I feel I need the extra stretch of quality when posting online, I'll probably pay for it I do find Imageshack quite good, but slow.

Re: Flickr question

Didn't realise you had to pay! Its seems that I get it free as I have bt/yahoo e mails.
I'm a tight wad too and would be reluctant to pay when there are free services available.
It is rather good though so I am glad I get it for nothing!

Re: Flickr question

I think you have to pay once you get over a certain limit - and your pics are subject to the dreaded 'this picture is currently not available' notice

Photobucket has been solid - been using it since Dogsey started - almost all of our members use it

Re: Flickr question

I pay for Flickr. £25 per year. If you lok at peoples profile on Flickr you will note that some have PRO after their name. This shows that they pay.

Photobucket???? Tried it, still got an account, but use it rarely. Clunky interface even clunkier Jpeg compression puts me off.

Horse for courses and everyone to their own but for me, £2 a month is money well spent.
