New lighting kit

Santa brought me this studio light kit this year! So I thought I could do pregnancy photos of a family member (this way she would have patience with me) I have never shot with a lighting set up. This was a first for me. Before the shoot (which it's really a lot of work for set up) I kept thinking how hard can this really be and that I can do this no problem (phffftt!) Well by the time my shoot was done UGG I thought.... I don't ever want to do that again! I like natural light! So here is how I did. Now, I welcome your comments because I really need help in this area! One problem for me was when it was getting dark outside the 2/lights that I had going didn't seem to be enough for a steady hand. Which this could be the problem for #1 vs softening.

Photo 1 - the focus doesn't look real clear to me and maybe I softened it a bit too much.

Photo 2 - I loved this idea when I saw it on Pintrest so I had to do it.

Re: New lighting kit

Number 2 is great, well done.

I thought the OY was your watermark to start with I'm not 100% struck on that bit if I'm honest, but the image is super gorgeous.

Re: New lighting kit

Thanks! Wibbly, I appreciate honesty! I fell in love with idea (not mine I totally borrowed it) but some I think it throws them off at first glance.
