Re: Kai - Fs 720

Not sure what to say you guys lol

It's obviously a 'capture' and at 1.4 we could have had a fuzzy picture so well done.

Re: Kai - Fs 720

Tommy

I am NOT one of those people who say everything is great/nice/well taken etc. I speak as I find, If I like something then hopefully members know I really mean it and not just lip service to please as Azz already knows.
No doubt you do take fantastic photos, but as far as I am concerned anyone, and I mean anyone, is as good as their last picture. In this case I don't consider the picture really shows up what its meant to, therefore I stand by what I have already said.

I know my pictures arn't up to professional standards by any means and I am the first to admit it, infact I would rather have an honest opinion than a just a to please one. If you look through my previous postings you will see that I try to help any member if I can or point them in the right direction, something that not all members do unfortunately.

Re: Kai - Fs 720

I'm sorry but I'm dumb to. I was going to say that as a scenic photo lovely but for the subject matter does nothing for me, but knew that the comments Bazza got would be aimed at me and couldn't be bothered posting.

Had to post now though as I find certain comments extremely rude and it's not for the first time.

Re: Kai - Fs 720

I agree - and am a bit shocked at the uneccessary rudeness in this thread to be honest - I thought we'd all moved on a bit from that - and the rudeness is coming from all sides IMO, no-one is totally innocent...

I do think that Bazza will have known what was going on in the photo, and is perhaps being a tad facetious, likewise, I agree to a large extent that the photo could have been markedly improved by the snowboarder being slightly larger in the frame, or at the least being in a position so he/she is easily recognisable *as* a snowboarder.

Re: Kai - Fs 720

Well I still find it hard to believe how anyone looking at the shot, that's posted in the sports section, wouldn't think it is something to do with er, winter sports given that there's a.... slope/ramp and snow!

I think Bazza's comments are more about his appreciation (or lack of in this case) and ignorance for this particular type of photography - and that's something I've had strong words with him in the past.

But no worries - all these 'mishaps' serve a very good purpose, that they help shape what YoP will become, and one of the features I plan to implement is a block feature - which will allow you all to prevent people you don' want commenting on your photos the ability to do so. That way everyone can choose who they are happy to have critiques from, and who they're not. And I bet that will be a direct correlation of those who's opinions they respect, and who's they don't - absolutely nothing to do with not wanting critique or not.

An interesting idea Azz Will be good to see how that pans out! I think it could be a very useful feature.

So how will that work then ?

Other than mod intervention I'm guessing there's no way of knowing whether the wording in somebody's reply constitutes a critique or not - so it must be a case of certain people not being able to see certain people's posts ?

Even if this is done by the original poster at the time of posting - does it not kind of go against the whole idea of putting pictures on a forum for others to see ?

I can only speak for myself but if I don't want a crit then I don't ask - is it not just a case of people having a little tact when they reply or perhaps choosing not to reply. Somebody that slags off one shot may love your next one.

It will be a complete block (can still see but not comment) so those who don't go about critiques the right way will find themselves being blocked left right and centre

Re: Kai - Fs 720

is this just to deal with a few rogue posters? Doesn't feel very community minded.
