Re: This Weeks subject is: B&W

I find B&W works best with objects of good contrast ...and I like the DoF in Azzs pic ...it is exactly the sort of picture that I take and concentrates you on the left eye ... (Just as well we don't all like the same things )

Re: This Weeks subject is: B&W

I'm having a few problems with B&W, they all seem to be blurred or out of focus, is the shutter speed slower when taking b&w, or is it just me
I took these earlier, but I'm not happy with them, the Oast is where my son works

Ahh but then is that a true B&W picture?

For those of you who shoot solely in RAW - does the B&W setting on your camera affect the RAW image? Only I have taken to shooting in B&W and I use the RAW + JPEG mode, however I have found that even thought the JPEG is in B&W, the RAW is in colour.

Anyway here are a couple of mine (technically they weren't taken this week though - they were taken on Saturday night but were only downloaded yesterday ). I was experimenting with the flash, I didn't have a diffuser on me so was bouncing the light off another surface - the lighting in the room was't the easiest to work with either.
